Drugs were used at both Woodstock and Coachella, but not for the same reasons. Looking back at Woodstock, the hippies used drug as a protest against society and for the experience. Today the majority of teens do drugs for recreational purposes. There is no meaning behind what they are doing, it's simply just for fun. On the other hand, in both scenarios the usage of drugs was illegal, and both the hippies, and the teens of today were braking rules, which is something they had in common.

The use of Marijuana was common at both music festivals, along with plenty of other drugs. The drug that became extremely popular at Woodstock is called LSD, otherwise known as Acid. Acid is still very popular today along with MDMA which is also known as Ecstasy and used mostly for recreational purposes by teens and young adults.
